Autopolyploidization affects transcript patterns and gene targeting frequencies in Physcomitrella

In the moss Physcomitrella whole-genome duplications affected the expression of 3.7% of the protein-encoding genes with various cellular functions. These include amongst others some kinases involved in signalling and genes relevant for  DNA repair, resulting in a reduced gene-targeting frequency.
