Activation of the immune receptors is a key process in the immune response. General receptor activation can lead to a variety of effects, and chemical tools to specifically regulate immune receptors are lacking, hampering the study of molecular downstream effects. In order to study molecular details of immune receptor activation in T cells, we will develop light-switchable peptidomimetics that will allow to control the activation of immune receptors and downstream proteins. These chemical tools will be applied to study downstream events of receptor activation with spatio-temporal precision.
