Dr. Pascal Schlosser awarded Helmut Holzer Research Prize by the Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft Freiburg

CIBSS member Dr. Pascal Schlosser is being recognized for his pioneering research in statistical genomics and molecular epidemiology, advancing our understanding of genetic data analysis and its applications to public health.

Dr. Pascal Schlosser, Emmy Noether Group leader at the Medical Center of the University of Freiburg and member of CIBSS has been awarded the Helmut Holzer Research Prize for his pioneering work in statistical genomics and molecular epidemiology. This recognition, awarded by the Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft Freiburg, honours remarkable achievements of emerging researchers across medicine, natural, and technical sciences.

Dr. Schlosser’s research has substantially contributed to advancing the understanding of genetic data analysis and its applications to public health. His innovative approaches allow new insights into complex genetic interactions and disease patterns, offering a foundation for future breakthroughs in personalised medicine.

After completing his PhD at the University of Freiburg in 2019, Dr. Pascal Schlosser was awarded several fellowships, including the Walter Benjamin Fellowship, which allowed him to conduct research at both the Medical Center of the University of Freiburg and the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA.  Beyond his current position as leader of an Emmy Noether research group at the University Medical Center in Freiburg, he is adjunct assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. Throughout his career, Dr. Schlosser’s work has been recognised with a range of awards, including the Stephan-Weiland-Award, the Gustav-Adolf-Lienert Award, and the Bernd-Sterzel-Award for Basic Research in Nephrology.
