Retreat, Collaboration and Advancement: Joining Forces for the Future of Signalling Research in Freiburg

Amidst idyllic Black Forest Scenery, the CIBSS research community put their heads together to discuss ideas and concepts for future prospects of biological signalling research at Freiburg

With the positive memories of this place and the inspiration it brings still almost fresh in our minds (see our retreat in 2022), the CIBSS research community and the leadership and management team have once again gathered for a two-day retreat at the beautiful Schluchsee. A separate program was organised for our early career researchers.

Ahead of us lie months of intense work as we submit our proposal for the continuation of our Cluster of Excellence in the summer. With joined forces and minds ablaze, we are now entering the crucial phases of the competition. Accordingly, the tight program with keynote speeches, World Café discussions, and poster presentations was dedicated to the future and further development.

4 Researchers honoured with InteGREATor Award 2024

They are the foundation of our future progress, and so we also took a moment to acknowledge past achievements: Every two years, CIBSS awards the InteGREATor Award, recognising outstanding contributions from early career researchers in biological signalling studies.

At this year's retreat, four highly noteworthy publications received collective recognition. All of them make a significant contribution to our mission of advancing biological signalling research and understanding and communicating in the language of life. This year's awardees are Rubí M.-H. Velasco Cárdenas, Sukanya Guhathakurta, Dr. Katrin Schüle, and Dr. Julian Staniek  >> further information here.
