In this project we will engineer and apply molecular optogenetic switches for the control of the activity of different signalling proteins such as transcription factors, kinases, phosphatases or metabolic enzymes. We will pursue this approach by a combination of optical protein caging, re-constitution, re-localization or destabilization. We aim at making this approach easily adaptable to different target proteins for the straight-forward control-of-function of molecular signalling events.
